Cumberland Falls spans the river in a broad curtain of water, its pale flow and rising mist standing against the darker rock of the Kentucky gorge. The monochrome treatment concentrates attention on scale, texture, and the weight of the falling water, giving the familiar landmark a strong, elemental presence.
