End of Summer Updates
Hi, everyone
I hope you had a great summer. Mine was busy with family and other things. As a result, I haven’t sent many updates in the last few months, and there are a lot of things happening, so I decided it was time to send an extensive update.
Website Updates & New Work
A few housekeeping things first.
A Glimpse of the Bridge of Sighs
Over time I have accumulated a decent amount of images that were not linked to the online store. I have also decided that my website needed a bit of a clean-up and streamlining. Consequently, I spent the last week on reworking the website design and structure. I am not done with cleaning up the galleries and updating the store (hopefully, I will be in a couple of weeks), but I have updated the Home page, added a new Portfolio page to replace my old Favorites gallery, renamed the old Galleries section to Print Shop & Archive (this one still needs some work cleaning up), and streamlined the Workshops & Instruction section. The Portfolio section is probably the biggest change. I broke it down into several collections/projects. Do check it out and let me know what you think.
As I mentioned, I spent a good amount of family time this summer. There were a few important events, and I took a couple of family trips. The trips were not photography dedicated, but I still managed to create something on that front as well. I am planning a more extensive travelog post about our trip to Italy. In the meantime, check out the new gallery from that trip, and here is a little taste.

Finally, my YouTube channel passed a milestone of 1,000 subscribers. I recently posted a new video from my artist talk at the Small Stones Festival of the Arts last January. In the talk I reflect on my journey from my first admission to the festival and how my photography progressed since then. Check it out and subscribe if you would like to see more. New videos are on the way.
Upcoming Exhibits and Art Fairs
With the “lazy” days of summer coming to an end, I am getting into the busy season for exhibits and art fairs. For a full breakdown of upcoming events check out the dedicated page. I tried to keep it up to date with the confirmed events.
There are currently two exhibits running, featuring my work. One is online and the other one at the Rockport Art Center & Museum. My piece “Between Frost and Breath” has received an Honorable Mention at the exhibit.

One of my pieces was also juried into the 59th Annual Juried Art Show at the Plymouth Center for the Arts. The exhibit will run September 19 - October 25, with the reception on October 19th.
Additional shows are on the way as well. I will update as things are confirmed.
As I mentioned, I am also starting a busy art fair season, with the first fair coming over the Labor Day weekend in South Yarmouth on Cape Cod. Check out the full schedule on the Upcoming Events page.
New Book and Calendars
In one of my previous updates I talked about my solo show at the RAA&M. The exhibit went very well and I was extremely happy with the way it came out. As I was working on the exhibit, I also decided to expand the works in it into a book. That book is now finished and available for purchase. Nil Sine Numine: Where Light Rests contains a hundred of my best photographs that really showcase my photography style. I am extremely proud of the way it came out. Ron Rosenstock graciously agreed to write the foreword for the book.
Nil Sine Numine: Where the Light Rests is a photographic journey through light, atmosphere, and the quiet wonder of the natural world. Moving from first light and distant mountains to mist-filled woods, intimate details, twilight peaks, and familiar local landscapes, the book follows a visual arc of exploration and return.
Inspired by the sense of wonder found in fantasy literature and guided by short epigraphs at the beginning of each section, this collection invites the viewer to slow down, look closely, and discover how light can transform both the extraordinary and the familiar.
I have also finished two 2027 calendars. One contains images from my New England collections. The second one is based on the The Age of Stone abstract photography project I’ve been working on. Check them out!
Editing Workshop
I will be running my Lightroom Classic Editing for Landscape Photography workshop again starting at the end of October. This is an intensive, 6-session online workshop going from the fundamentals to advanced editing techniques in Lightroom Classic (and a little Photoshop thrown in for good measure). The sessions are recorded and are available to the participants for review for a year. If you are at the stage of your photography where you would like to invest more time into editing your images and to go beyond the basics, check it out!
